6. Where are you most comfortable writing? At what time of day? Computer or good ol' pen and paper?
Well, a good 99% of my writing takes place in my workroom/computer room in my apartment. I've also very rarely done some writing on the bus, over my lunch breaks at work, or on Frogmouth (my netbook) but those are the exception to prove the rule.
Time of day is mostly evenings. Mornings are good too, even better in certain regards, but between work and church, I don't have much opportunity for writing in the mornings unless I take time off. I am NOT an afternoon person, sleepy and lethargic when the sun is highest, so writing rarely happens in the afternoon unless I trail over from a morning session or can manage to get myself started before 4:30.
Computer for me, please! I only did pen and paper back before I had my own pc. My hand cramps horribly fast, my writing gets messier by the year, and back in the day (college years in particular) I had to 'trick' myself into believing I was reading something somebody else wrote to get past my loathing of my own writing, and it's rather hard to do that looking at my own handwriting! Thankfully, after 10 straight years of fairly steady writing (summers excluded) I've gotten that particular aspect of my writing aversion completely worn away. I don't need to pretend it's someone else's story I somehow found; I know it's mine and that's just fine!
