Book 5 rewards, post 4
This (at last) is the second of the two 'big' rewards for the biggest finish line of my life. Unlike the woven blanket of post 3, I didn't do any work for this one. Instead, all of the work was done by the fabulously talented Janine Haq of Quequinox Art. I found out about her when she posted some of her work at the wonderful Windstone Forum, and I fell in love.

So in April, after finishing book 5, I commissioned her to do a sculpture of two horses on a base: depicting Geren and The Defender together in horse form, as it might appear in book 5, chapter 20. And in late July I received the finished work, after it took an arduous journey from Canada, and survived getting inspected by customs agents.

My photos are below, but I have to direct those who are interested to the artist's gallery on her Facebook page, as I think her photos (particularly the outdoor ones) are better than mine. You'll have to scroll down a bit, she's done a lot of sculptures this year!

If you want to see more of her wonderful work, I also invite you to visit her personal art page that she recently put up. My commission makes some appearances there as well.

Lastly, I had to take a video of this lovely sculpture, as 2d photos just don't do it justice. Not that a video does either, but it gets closer!

Geren and The Defender from Adaneth on Vimeo.

I need an excuse to commission her again, I really do... ;)

(P.S. I'm having a hard time telling if the video is 'embedding' correctly--I don't do this often! If it doesn't work, then click on the 'Geren and The Defender' link below it to go to the page its hosted at, thanks!)

Isn't it? I wish I could brag about her everywhere, though she isn't lacking for commissioners at present.

Thanks! =)

She did a marvelous job! They are so beautiful. I can not wait to
see them. I am so glad the sculpture was finished before my visit.

I enjoyed her facebook page. Thanks for posting it.

Yes, I thought you would like them and I'm looking forward to you getting to see them in person! I shall have to show you some of her in-progress photos when you come, and hopefully the printed version of 'Never Alone' will be hanging up by then too.

Thanks for checking it out! I love seeing the various things she makes for people.
