2009 Books
Don't mind me, just cleaning out 2009 stuff. ;)

For this year: 102 books, not including picture books (i.e. Catwings) or manuscripts not yet in print on paper (i.e. non-selfish reading).

Not bad! Since I kept a good balance between new reads and rereads and am only falling behind on the non-fiction front (which I can't afford right now anyway) I'm going to do another wide-open year in 2010. Yay!

I see you have a few by Mercedes Lackey on there. Is she any good? I've never tried any of her stuff before.

Heh, Mercedes Lackey is my 'guilty pleasure.' I consider her stuff like 'junk food reading:' a big bowl of popcorn and chips and the like--a lot of fun, but not much more. I quite enjoy her world and her nonhuman races when they show up. But she's got a lot of the 'hack writer' in her style, and her stuff is basically aimed at teens and can be laden with angst or Mary-Sue-isms/nobody understands me/all the world's against me. Yet I love how she has well over twenty books set at different time-periods in the same world, and how she links things together.
